Reflection:

This article mainly explains the significance of ICT for both teachers and students in the 21st century era. Students who are less familiar with digital culture are at a disadvantage in a national and global economy.  It also reminds the readers about the drastic changes that we can see in the education community in the current situation. For instance, replacing chalkboard with interactive digital white board.  Moreover, this paper argues that teachers need to be digitally literate and competent so that it can lead to higher order thinking skills and to provide creative and individualized options for students. For this reason, teachers must be provided with PDs and trainings on ICT.

According to the article, ICT planners or policy makers need to take the utmost responsibility for prosperous ICT integration in education. To do so, schools must be equipped with necessary infrastructure such as; computers/laptops, tablets, smart boards, and stable internet connectivity. Thus, some schools in the world has started allowing students to bring their own phones to school. However, considering the diverse socio economic background of students the policy makers also needs to think about the ideas to provide equal ICT learning opportunities to all the learners.

Lastly, teachers must develop positive attitude towards ICT integration in teaching and learning. The content or the curriculum with ICT integration will make learning more engaging and fascinating. Information, Communication, and Technology can provide different options for taking and processing information for the learners. Most importantly, over 87% of the students learn best through tactile and visual thus making ICT an effective way for teaching and learning. Therefore, let us change according to the modern technology.

Thank You.
